GEN 1.6  SUMMARY OF NATIONAL REGULATIONS

The following is a list of Civil Aviation Legislation Air Navigation Regulations etc. in force in the State of Sudan. It is essential that any one engaged in air operations be acquainted with the relevant regulations.

1.6.1 BIRD CONCENTRATIONS ON OR IN THE VICINITY OF AIRPORTS
     
Large birds are likely to observe in the vicinity of all airports in the Sudan. Therefore, pilots are requested to maintain a look out and exercise caution while approaching to land and on taking off.
     
1.6.2 Operation within airspace designed as reduced Vertical Separation Minimum
     
1.6.2-1 Sudan Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) Air Navigation Regulations (ANR) VIII VOL 1-08.04 dated FEB 2004 except as provided in para (2) of this section , no person may operate a civil aircraft of the republic of Sudan registry in airspace designated as RVSM airspace unless :
a - The operator and the operators aircraft comply with the requirements of this Air Navigation Regulations (ANR) and
b - The operator is authorized by (DGCA) to conduct such operations.
1.6.2-2 The director general of civil Aviation (DGCA) may authorize a deviation from the requirements of this section.
     
1.6.3 Prohibition of non RVSM Aircraft
     
Prohibition of non RVSM Aircraft within RVSM airspace (FL290 and FL410)
     
1.6.4 Suspension use of east bound RVSM
     
Suspending use of east bound RVSM FL310, 350 and FL390.
     
1.6.5 Operation within airspace designated as area navigation (RNAV) airspace
     
1.6.5-1 Except as provided in paragraph 2 of this section, no person may operate civil aircraft of the republic of Sudan registry in airspace designated as area navigation (RNAV) airspace.
-The operator and the operator aircraft comply with the requirement of this ANR, and
-The operator is authorized by the director general to conduct such operation.
1.6.5-2 The director general of civil Aviation may authorize a deviation from the requirement of this section. REF.ANR VIII VOLI-08-07.
     
1.6.6 GPS failure
     
All TFC flying within Khartoum FIR along R-NAV routes or during GNSS APCH navigating by GPS satellite encountering GPS signal interference to report to Khartoum ACC on VHF 127.5 MHz, 127.3 MHz or HF11300KHz immediately or APCH FREQ serving the airport.
     
1.6.7 All TFC departing from HSSJ to Nairobi and Entebbe FIRs
     
a- All TFC departing from HSSJ to Nairobi FIR to contact Nairobi ACC Immediately after departure on VHF121.3MHz or 120.5mhz and Khartoum ACC on VHF 127.3 MHz or HF 11300KHz.
b- All TFC departing from HSSJ to Entebbe FIR to contact Entebbe ACC on VHF 128,5MHz and Khartoum ACC on VHF127.3MHz or HF 11300KHz Immediately after departure.)
